Irina Pavlikhina

Павлихина

Irina Pavlikhina was born in Moscow. She graduated from the Gnessins Music Secondary School and then from the Gnessins Russian Academy of Music with honors. Her teachers were
Professor Akhtyamova (D. Oistrakhs pupil) and Professor Berlinsky. She took the First Prize at the "Concertino Praga" International Competition. She conceived the idea of the "Mozart Quartet" and was one of its founders; the ensemble twice became a winner of the Shostakovich International Competition. She took part in master classes with R. Dubinsky (Canada), "Amadeus Quartet"
(UK), and the Ysaÿe Quartet (France). She played together with E. Virsaladze, A. Ghindin, T. Alikhanov, A. Utkin, A. Bakhchiev and others. She took part in many international festivals, such as fhe "Mozartiana", "The Art of Quartet", "Russia - France", festivals dedicated to the works of M. Weinberg and N. Medtner, Schumann and Chopin, the First International Festival in Salacgriva
(Latvia), “Autunno Musicale a Como” (Italy). At present she is an Associate Professor at the String Department of the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music College.
