Vladimir Spivakov and the NPR have started the new recordings

On June 15, 2018, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia has started another series of recordings. Vladimir Spivakov is resuming his  recordings of  preeminent works of Russian music: within eight days there will be captured his interpretations of Scriabin's Le Poème de l'extase, the Suite from Stravinsky's Le baiser de la fée, Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade Symphonic Suite. They all will be released under the Maestro's own label Spivakov Sound.

In addition, a separate album will present the NPR's new program titled Treasures and Rarities of Bel Canto, first rendered on June 8 at the “Vladimir Spivakov invites ...” Festival Edition in Perm and dedicated to the memory of Dmitry Hvorostovsky. Baritone Vasily Ladyuk, the soloist of the Kolobov “Novaya Opera” Theatre, the NPR's soloists Kirill Soldatov (trumpet) and Andrey Mikhailovsky (clarinet) took part in it. The program includes overtures and arias from operas by Bellini (Norma, I Puritani, Il Pirata), Donizetti (Dom Sébastien, Don Pasquale, Lucia di Lammermoor, L'elisir d'amore, La favorita, Il duca d'Alba) and Rossini (Il barbiere di Siviglia, Guillaume Tell ), as well as the virtuoso concert variations by Arban and Bassi on  themes from popular operas.

As before the recording is made with the participation of German sound engineer and producer Philipp Nedel, a Grammy and ECHO award winner, a permanent partner of such recorded music companies as Decca, Deutsche Grammophon, EMI, Sony Music and Onyx. In 2015-2017 Nedel and his b-sharp company took part in the NPR's release of an Edvard Grieg music album titled A Wounded Heart (Sony Music) (it can be heard in the “Audio Section”), as well as in the recordings of the Holy Russia album (Spivakov Sound), some works by Russian and European classics and Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin opera.

30th Colmar International Festival

In 2018, the 30th edition of the International Festival in Colmar pays tribute to the outstanding pianist and composer Evgeny Kissin. The Festival's Artistic Director Vladimir Spivakov, whose close friendship and cooperation with Evgeny Kissin counts several decades already, first invited the 20-year-old pianist to Colmar in 1992. At the Festival's present edition Evgeny will give several concerts. The Festival in Alsace opens with the pianist's recital on July 4, on July 9 Kissin will perform with the members of the Kopelman-Quartet and Vladimir Spivakov (works by Kissin and Shostakovich), and on July 13 he will play with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov. Moreover, on July 11 there will be a poetry evening of Evgeny Kissin, whose multifaceted talent reveals itself not only in piano playing and composing music.

The NPR’s Russia Tour Continues in Belgorod and Kursk

The NPR and Vladimir Spivakov will continue their Russia tour in the Belgorod and Kursk regions on May 17-20. The tour is supported by the "ArtOkno" Festival by Alisher Usmanov's "Art, Science and Sport" Charity Foundation . The Festival was established in 2017 in order to organize various cultural events in the Belgorod, Kursk and Orenburg regions and assist the regional cultural centers. The NPR's concerts will take place in Belgorod (May 17), Stary Oskol (May 18), Kursk (May 19) and Zheleznogorsk (May 20). The audiences will be offered a program compiled of popular overtures, arias and duets from Italian and French operas (see below). Marika Machitidze (soprano), the star of the "The Grand Opera" TV Project, and Vasily Laduk (baritone), the soloist of the “Novaya Opera” Teater, will sing in the concerts. Major part of the tickets for the NPR's performances there is free of charge. Vladimir Spivakov: "Thanks to the support of Alisher Usmanov's Charity Foundation, it is not our first visit to the Belgorod and Kursk regions. I am very glad to be able to give concerts in the Russian regions, especially in small towns. I like the idea of the "ArtOkno" Festival which provides a free artistic dialogue between the regions and the main cultural centers of Russia. The NPR and Vladimir Spivakov Will Perform in Tashkent

On the 26th of April the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia will appear in Tashkent: the concert will take place at the Palace of International Forums “Uzbekistan”. The NPR will be led by its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Vladimir Spivakov.

The night will be another clear evidence of the effective collaboration of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation:  on the stage there will meet brilliant musicians, the soloists of top Moscow Opera Houses  Anna Aglatova (soprano) and  Vasily Ladyuk (baritone) and a special guest People's Artist of Uzbekistan Ramiz Usmanov (tenor).

“Holy Russia” – the first CD in the new series

Vladimir Spivakov and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia are glad to present the release of the first disc from the series of albums of Russian music recorded on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the Orchestra. All recordings have been made at the Moscow International Performing Arts Center in 2015-2016 and will be released under Maestro Spivakov's own label Spivakov Sound. German sound engineer and producer Philipp Nedel and his b-sharp studio participate commonly in the recording making. The recently released album entitled "Holy Russia" includes works by Sergei Rachmaninoff ("We praise Thee" from the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, "The Bells" Poem on the text by Edgar Poe in the Russian translation of Konstantin Balmont) and Sergei Taneev (Cantata "St. John of Damascus" on the verses by Alexey K. Tolstoy), sung by Hibla Gerzmava (soprano), Dmitry Korchak (tenor), Vasily Ladyuk (baritone), the Academic Grand Choir "Masters of Choral Singing" (Artistic Director - Lev Kontorovich) and the Choir of the V.
