On February 6, the Zaryadye Hall will host a gala concert with world opera stars. The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia directed by Vladimir Spivakov will share the stage with luminous singers Hibla Gerzmava (soprano) and Liparit Avetisyan (tenor) who will perform arias and duets from Russian and Italian operas.

The upcoming program unites soloists close in temperament and artistic perception. Both are Caucasian born (Hibla Gerzmava is the pride of Abkhasia, while Liparit – that of Armenia), both are alumni of the Moscow Conservatory, both embody its great traditions that imply a faultless vocal technique with minute attention for the word, style and dramatic substance of the piece sung. The artists have conquered most important world opera stages whether The Bolshoi or Covent Garden, Paris or Vienna Opera Houses while the climb of Hibla or Liparit onto the Opera Olympus is tied mainly with the Italian opera repertoire,

Their performances are always marked by the nobility of sound, the fineness and agility of phrasing, the inner credibility of the role sung. “Heavenly purity and beauty of her voice, each note in all its allurement, extremely clear diction, timeless breath” – in such words music critics described the vocal mastery of Hibla Gerzmava. Liparit Avetisyan is seen as the owner of a voice of rare beauty and charm which “entices by its poetry, delicacy and softness of the timbre”. And last but not least, their dramatic abilities and great stage presence have won to them both the Gold Mask prize in the “best role in opera' nomination several times.

The artistic alliance of Vladimir Spivakov and Hibla Gerzmava goes back to many years ago when the singer became a permanent star in programs by the maestro (also the grandiose “I Love You, Life!” project): he is a most desirable guest at her Festivals in Abkhasia. For Liparit Avetisyan it will be his first appearance with the maestro and his collective.
