Alexander Bakharev

Alexander Bakharev was born in Moscow in 1992. In 2015 he graduated from the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (Vladislav Lavrik’s Classes), where he also took his post-graduate course. In 2022, he completed his education in the Conservatory also as conductor.

Alexander is a prizewinner of the All-Russian Pifferari Competition of Young Performers, the All-Russian V.M. Blazhevich Competition Silver Trumpets (Grand Prix), the Festos Students Festival. The winner of the M.I. Tabakov Contest. He was granted a scholarship of the Moscow Government (2009). He had participated in several concert programs of the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation.

As a soloist he took part in the 27th edition of Vladimir Spivakov's Festival in Colmar that was dedicated to trumpeter Maurice André, in Vladimir Spivakov's Self-Portrait Jubilee Concert, and in the Grand Piano Competition Gala concert – he played the trumpet solo in Shostakovich's First Piano Concerto with Moscow Virtuosi and Denis Matsuev under Vladimir Spivakov's baton. He took part in other important events such as the Crescendo Festival, Stars on the Baikal in Irkutsk, the Oleg Lundstrem Festival, Brass of White Nights in Saint Petersburg, the Trumpeters' Parade Gala-Concert in the Zaryadye Hall.

He has been co-working with prominent musicians such as Denis Matsuev, Anna Tsybuleva, Dmitry Masleev, Ivan Bessonov, Sergei Nakariakov, Matthias Hoefs and many others in Russia and abroad.

Along with classical music, he plays jazz and electronic music. He co-works with the Brass Ensemble of the Mariinsky Theater as a guest musician.

He joined the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia in 2011 and has been its principal trumpeter since 2015.

He is the XO Artist in Russia.
