Dmitry Akinfin was born in 1981 in Lytkarino (Moscow Region). He started playing the violin at the local music school in Taisia Stanislavchik’s classes. In 1999, he graduated with distinction from the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory (Tatiana Ryzhkova-Dudonova’s classes) and in 2004 — from Gnessins Russian Music Academy (Professor Leonid Bulatov’s classes).
He took part in concerts of the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation and the New Names Fund. He was a scholarship holder of the Russian Performing Arts Foundation. He is a laureate of several international competitions.
In 1999-2000 he was an artist of the Academy of Ancient Music and Opus Posth ensembles led by Tatiana Grindenko; in 2000-2001 played with the Russian Camerata Orchestra directed by Vyacheslav Trushin, in 2001-2003 was an artist of the Moscow Philharmonia Academic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yuri Simonov,
In 2003, he joined the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
As a soloist, he has performed with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra for Children and Youth directed by Dmitry Orlov, the Kursk Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra the Telemann Consort Ensemble, and others.
He plays in chamber ensembles such as the NPR Quartet, the Anno Domini quartet, in the duet with Evgeny Starodubtsev, gives masterclasses in Russia and abroad.
