Emil Salaridze was born in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan). He graduated from the P.I.Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (Professor Fedor Druzhinin and Svetlana Stepchenko's classes) followed by the post-graduate curses there (Larisa Poltoratskaya's classes).
He worked as the concertmaster of the viola section in the Young Russia State Symphony Orchestra directed by Mark Gorenstein and the Novaya Rossiya State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yuri Bashmet. He is an active proponent of modern music. He co-works with the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble and the CEAM Ensemble of the Moscow Conservatory.
He is one of the founders and members of Vacuum Quartet. The ensemble specializes on performing contemporary music and takes part in laboratories for composers (together with CEAM and the Gnessin Contemporary Festival), he has recorded several CDs for FANCYMUSIC label.
