Alexander Bakharev

Alexander Bakharev was born in Moscow in 1992. He began his musical studies at the Rachmaninoff Music School (Alexander Drobiashchenko's Class) and then continued them at the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory (Anatoly Pautov's Class). He graduated from the A.Schnittke Music College and then in 2015 - from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (Vladislav Lavrik's Class), where he also took his post-graduate course. Since 2010 he has been teaching at the Music School No. 91 and since 2016 in the College at the A.Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music. Alexander is a prize-winner of the Festival of Young Soloists, the All-Russian Pifferari Competition of Young Performers, the All-Russian V.M Blazhevich Competition "Silver Trumpets" (Grand Prix), the "Festos" Students Festival. The winner of the M.I. Tabakov Contest. He was granted a scholarship of the Moscow Government (2009). He participated in several concert programs of the Vladimir Spivakov.International Charity Foundation. In 2015 he played the trumpet solo in the First Piano Concerto by Shostakovich (with pianist Denis Matsuev and the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov) in Moscow and then at the Music Festival dedicated to legendary French trumpeter Maurice André in Colmar (France). In 2011 Alexander joined the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, where he is the Principal Trumpet since 2015. He is a member of the NPR Brass Quintet and of the Music Brass Ensemble. He plays a Vincent Bach Corporation trumpet.
