Strauss "Grand Opera" is the only professional television competition for young singers, produced by the "Russia K" TV Channel. Its main objective is to discover new talented opera singers and help them gain popularity. The first three seasons of the Project in 2011, 2013 and 2014 aroused a great interest among the audience and took a worthy place in the row of television programs. The authors of the Project were able to keep a necessary balance - to create a dazzling spectacle, meeting the expectations of the today's audience, that successfully combines elements of a colorful show and an academic concert that brought different categories of viewers to television screens. On the 26th of December the viewers will learn the name of the winner of the 2016 edition of "Grand Opera", which has been delighting the fans of the Project during last three months. Three contenders have reached the Final - Tigran Ohanyan (tenor, Armenia), Ksenya Nesterenko (soprano) and Yury Gorodetsky (tenor, Belarus). The winner will be determined by the viewers' SMS-voting. For the first time in the history of the Finals the ceremony will be held at the Bolshoi Theatre, and the live broadcasting from the Russian main opera stage on the "Russia Kultura" Channel will help everyone watch this concert. The jury includes Dmitry Bertman, Producer and Artistic Director of the "Helikon-Opera" Musical Theater, Romanian soprano Nelly Miricioiu, Belgian tenor Axel Eyveraert, Honoured Artist of Russia Marina Meshcheriakova. In addition to the pretenders for the main prize, the final concert will feature winners and competitors of the previous editions of the "Grand Opera" Project: Veronika Dzhioeva, Vladimir Magomadov, Saltanat Akhmetova, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Ekaterina Arnu, Ilya Silchukov, Alexey Isaev, Aleksey Sayapin. There also will be guest stars, among whom such brilliant artists as Hibla Gerzmava, Kristine Opolais, Nadja Michael and Vasily Ladiuk. The singers will be accompanied by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia. On the podium this evening there will appear the NPR's Artistic Director Vladimir Spivakov, his Italian colleague Sesto Quatrini and the conductor of the "Grand Opera" Project Denis Vlasenko.
