The “Rachmaninoff Days” Mini-Festival at the Philharmonia-2 Hall, first held in April 2016, was the beginning of the good tradition of a music offering on the composer's birthday at the hall bearing his name. However, for Vladimir Spivakov many days in every season are Rachmaninoff''s. The composer's works have been part of Spivakov's regular repertoire both in concert halls and in recordings. With the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia he has recorded the “Three Russian Songs”, “Spring” Cantata, “The Bells” Poem, “Symphonic Dances”, all complete piano concertos and symphonies. The Symphony CDs are to be released on the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birthday. The memorial date is also to be reflected in the NPR's new subscription series at the Moscow Performing Arts Center in the 2022/2023 season.

'He is one of the most beloved composers in the world now, and for me personally – one of the lodestars. – Vladimir Spivakov says. – You can always find in his music something you have not heard or seen previously, it is like a bottomless abyss. Rachmaninoff is a Universe, magnificent and full of endless mysteries which are yet to be discovered to people.'

This time the Maestro has chosen from Rachmaninoff's works the Third Symphony and the Second Piano Concerto. The piano part in the Concerto will be played by the 18-year-old Eva Gevorgyan, a former student of the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory, winner of international contests in Cleveland, Düsseldorf, Porto, Gorizia, Chicago, Martigny, silver-prize awardee at the Cliburn Youth Competition in Dallas, who also won five special prizes at the Grand Piano Competition in Moscow. In 2019 Eva Gevorgyan got the Discovery Award of the ICMA (International Classical Music Award) and became a Yamaha Young Artist in 2021. Eva has successfully performed with the NPR many a time in Moscow and Russian regions.
