In the first part of the concert (December, 27) the pianist will appear as the soloist in Prokofiev's Second Piano Concerto which revealed the composer as the master of beautiful deep lyricism combined with grotesque and sharp phrases, with all the abundance of musical ideas. The second part of the program will present Rachmaninov's "Symphonic Dances", the composer's last major work created far from his motherland and associated with a profound comprehension of the main problems of human existence.
