The NPR’s and Vladimir Spivakov’s tour in the Volga Region

The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia led by Vladimir Spivakov will tour the Volga Region in September 2021. It is not the first time that the Maestro and his collective are visiting  main cultural centers of the Volga Federal District, thus in 2017 the musicians performed in Samara, Ulyanovsk, Saransk, Penza and Kuznetsk. This year's tour includes also Togliatti and Saratov. All six concerts of the NPR will be conducted by its artistic director Vladimir Spivakov, a People's Artist of the USSR and UNESCO peace artist. Vladimir Spivakov and the NPR Will Perform at Festivals in Italy

The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia and Vladimir Spivakov will take part in two esteemed music festivals in Italy this September. On September 9, the collective will give a concert at the annual Südtirol Festival in Merano, a spa resort in the Italian Alps (Bolzano province). The concert in the local Kurhaus will feature the Russian musicians together with the renowned French cellist Gautier Capuçon who will play the solo part in Dvořák's Cello Concerto.

The NPR’s 2021/2022 Concert Season: Main Events

The 2021/2022 concert season promises to be very busy and diverse for the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia. Among the most important events of the coming season there are the following:
– the 11th edition of the Moscow Music Festival “Vladimir Spivakov Invites...” at the Moscow Performing Arts Center and the Zaryadye Hall featuring world opera stars Hibla Gerzmava (soprano), Lise Davidsen (soprano, Norway) and Stephanie d'Oustrac (mezzo-soprano, France), violinist María Dueñas (Spain), pianists Nikolai Lugansky and Lucas Debargue (France), members of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House Aygul Akhmetshina (mezzo-soprano) and Alan Pingarrón (tenor); 
– tours in Russia, Italy, Austria and Uzbekistan (specifics below);
– Christmas Festival of sacred music in the Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow Performing Arts Center;
– the final round and gala concert of the winners of the Vladimir Spivakov Violin Competition in Ufa;

The “Vladimir Spivakov Invites…” Festival in Omsk and Perm

As usual, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia will complete its 2020/2021 season touring Russia and giving eight concerts as part of the “Vladimir Spivakov Invites...” Festival in Omsk (June 2-4) and Perm (June 6-10). The performances will feature musical masterpieces of various genres and epochs: from dance miniatures to a Requiem mass, from Viennese classics to modern film scores. This year the Festival will present several topical programs, including two monograph concerts dedicated to Mozart and Beethoven as well as a program made only of waltzes of all kinds (see Events).

The NPR’s Charity Concerts in Uzbekistan

Vladimir Spivakov and the NPR will give two charity concerts in Uzbekistan, which will take place in the square at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theater in Tashkent on May 23 and in Registan Square in Samarkand on May 25. The concerts will feature Ekaterina Morozova (soprano) and Uzbekistan-native Bekhzod Davronov (tenor), both soloists of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia. The program consists of excerpts from operas by Tchaikovsky, Puccini, Mascagni and Cilea.

The concerts are organized by Alisher Usmanov's Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation together with the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The concerts are free for students of the Uzbekistan State Conservatory, R.M. Glière Music School, V.A. Uspensky Music School and other educational institutions in the capital city and other regions, cultural workers and teachers, media figures, bloggers, wards of inclusive resource centers and special boarding schools for disabled children. The NPR members will give master-classes for students of music colleges.

The 11th Edition of the Moscow Music Festival “Vladimir Spivakov Invites” will start on October 4, 2021, with the traditional New Year concert on December 27, 2021, as the final point. Сoncerts of the event will take place at the Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow International Performing Arts Center and Zaryadye Concert Hall.
